Nearing completion Expansion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Ciudad Belén

The Secretary General of the Capital Commune Fidel Moreno, supervised the Expansion Project of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in front of Ciudad Belén, in District VI of Managua and announced that it has an advance of 85 percent of construction and is projected to be completed by the end of January 2021.

"We are in District VI of Managua very close to the airport area, evaluating the progress of the construction of a new treatment plant that will have a direct impact on the lives of more than 20 thousand people in this environment," Moreno said.

He explained that this treatment plant replaces an old plant that no longer had the capacity to treat sewage from Ciudad Belén and with the new plant it will be possible to incorporate neighboring neighborhoods, “And it will also allow us to develop two housing projects that They are in process, Monte Nebo third stage, where we expect to have a little more than 800 new houses and Villa de Santiago where we expect to complete about 300 houses ”, stated Moreno.

He declared that the sanitary work began in the middle of the year and has an investment cost of 18 million 481 thousand 421 córdobas.

“With this we restore an essential right such as the treatment of sewage, so important for the environment and for the quality of life of the inhabitants of the area, because for years, many of these waters that were not treated, ended up being discharged. in the riverbeds and finally in Lake Managua. This is a work that began this year and we are finishing in a timely manner, we have been able to verify the main advances with the engineering and electromechanical team that are fundamental in a project of this nature and with that, we continue to restore fundamental rights for the citizens of the capital. ”, Concluded the Secretary.
