With the aim of continuing to promote the sport, the Mayor of Managua inaugurated this Saturday, March 7, the federated Baseball League "Hugo Chávez" in the categories: youth "AA" and Pee Wee category, at the San Luis stadium, with the participation of 4 youth teams, between the ages of 14 to 15 years and 6 Pee Wee teams between the ages of 5 to 7 years.
This league will last for 3 months, ending on Saturday, May 23, 2020.
The Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda stressed that today, the people are reaping the fruits of the work and effort, which in recent years the National Government has dedicated to promoting sport.
“It is beautiful to see these children and behind them a whole family who come here today to support them and enjoy the beautiful game, a few days ago our country was crowned champion in the U23 Baseball World Cup held here at the stadium, those The kids who won made us champions. Ten years ago, just like you, they were playing in the leagues promoted by our government. That is the result, when there is a political will from our President, ”said the Mayor.
In this federated league they participate in the youth category, the teams: Los Tucanes, Marineros, Villa Progreso, Roberto Clemente and Waspán Sur.
And in the Pee Wee category the teams; Roberto Clemente, Friends of Clemente, Hugo Chávez, September 14 and Gallitos de Ciudad Sandino.
The games will be every Saturday at 9:00 in the morning at the San Luis, Carnic and Waspán Sur stadiums.
Julián Chávez is the father of one of the little balls who trains at the Commune Academies and he dreams that his son will be long in this sport.
