What is?

This service allows registering a certain death in the Civil Status Registry of Persons, in the case of residents of the municipality of Managua, this procedure is mandatory. People over 18 years of age may appear to carry out this procedure.

Where to go?

In the Civil Registry windows of People, located in the Civic Center, Module “A”, ground floor and in maternal and child hospitals and others: Fernando Vélez Paiz, Bertha Calderón, German Nicaraguan Hospital, Hospital Salud Integral and Hospital Vivian Pellas ( the latter, only on Fridays).

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements (Deceased in Managua)

  • Original death certificate or administrative death certificate issued by the Ministry of Health (Conchita Palacios) or by the Institute of Legal Medicine.
  • Photocopy of identity card of the deceased and / or photocopy of birth certificate.
  • Photocopy of the identity card of the appearing party.
  • Service fee is the one established by the building authorities: Current value C$72.00

Requirements (Deceased abroad)

  • Death certificate issued by the Nicaraguan Consulate in the foreign country or death certificate issued by a foreign authority duly legalized or apostilled, if applicable.
  • Photocopy of the deceased's birth certificate.
  • Photocopy of identity card or passport of the deceased.
  • Photocopy of the identity card of the appearing party.
  • Service fee is that established by the building authorities: Current value C$97.00

Important

If the documents to be presented are in another language, they must be translated into Spanish by means of a Public Deed by a Notary who has been incorporated for more than 10 years.

The death will be registered regardless of the date of occurrence of the vital event, provided that they present the Originals of the Death Certificate or Administrative Certificate of Death issued by the Ministry of Health (MINSA) and, if possible, the Certificate of the Cemetery.
