Youth Games concentrate 25 teams in the third edition of the Volleyball Championship

This weekend began the third edition of the Volleyball Championship at the Managua 2023 Youth Games, a sports tournament in which 25 teams participate in 5 categories, promoting the development of talent in the new generations.

The competition will take place in the modern indoor volleyball courts of the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores park and in the categories of women's mini volleyball, women's and men's children, as well as women's and men's youth.

Juny Aguilera, Volleyball Coordinator of the Municipal Sports Directorate, indicated that these games are held to develop the talent of the young people who make up the Managua academies and the departments. This year teams from Granada, Rivas, León and Masaya.

"Volleyball has had exponential growth in recent years, thanks to the promotion and support of the Good Government, which we could see in the final of the first division tournament with full gyms, in addition to the greater interest of children and girls in this sport and that is why this type of competition is being developed, so that everyone has the power to develop in this discipline within their reach”, added Aguilera.

The young athletes expressed their satisfaction with this championship, in which they will be able to learn and gain experience for international tournaments, as stated by the young Elton Rocha.

Paola Aburto López, invited the youth to do some sport, "include themselves in this sport, trying it does not lose anything and it will attract their attention to be part of a sports team."

Managua 2023 Youth Games, is a sports platform, where more than 100 thousand young athletes will participate, in 21 sports disciplines for 6 months.
