Successful Boxing Tournament ends in Managua

Young athletes from the boxing academies of the capital met at the Roger Deshon Gymnasium in San Judas, this Monday, December 19, to demonstrate their skills acquired from the second edition of the Managua 2022 Youth Games.

"We are closing the boxing tournament of the Managua 2022 Youth Games, we have an important participation of boxers from the different districts of Managua, from all the boxing academies of the Managua Mayor's Office and young people at risk of Youth Affairs of the National Police, working with the boxers from the rough neighborhoods”, highlighted Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales.

He also added that a total of 120 boxers registered and the day had 10 fights, where the billboards were given free of charge to the population.

Diego Castillo Pineda, one of the fans of the ring, stressed that sport helps them keep their minds healthy, away from vices and invited youth to take risks and enter any of the disciplines.

In these Managua 2022 Youth Games, more than 100,000 young people participate in 20 different sports disciplines, including baseball, basketball, futsal, volleyball and boxing, as well as taekwondo, judo, which is one of the sports that has acquired the greatest boom in recent years and that at the national level already has more than a thousand athletes.
