Soon the residents of the Germán Pomares neighborhood will have their long-awaited new streets

The construction of modern roads continues in the neighborhoods of the capital, this Thursday, November 9, municipal authorities carried out a supervision visit for the road improvement project of 7 blocks of asphalt coating, which is executed through the Streets for the People Program in the Germán Pomares neighborhood, located in District V.

This road infrastructure work will benefit more than 4 thousand inhabitants and has a total investment of 3 million 580 thousand 458 córdobas, which will guarantee well-being and future for 556 families in this community, who will soon enjoy their completely new streets, reported the Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado.

“Very happy to share with the families of the Germán Pomares neighborhood, a little more than 54 million córdobas has been invested here from 2009 to date, not only in the Streets for the People Program, but also in the lining of the Fanabasa channel that It was a permanent problem, here we had a critical point, however, now we can say that families live with great security and well-being, thanks to God and those policies of our Good Government," said the mayor of the capital.

Also, he announced that this sector has benefited from storm drainage works, sanitary sewage and the construction of 16 Decent Homes, in restitution of rights to families with fewer resources and who for many years were at risk of vulnerability.

To date, this emblematic Streets for the People Program has made progress of 70.89 percent, with 726.63 blocks built of the 1,027 planned for this year.

After several years of waiting, today families are happy about the improvement of their streets, which once completed will provide them with safe and quick access, facilitating pedestrian and vehicular access, said the protagonist Reynaldo Ruiz.

"Now that we are seeing this improvement, we are happy, before this street was terrible, it was trafficable, but in non-optimal conditions, there were holes, mud and in the summer it was dusty, with this street the exit will be more constant for the vehicles, such as the ambulance, the Police and for people who use wheelchairs.”
