An afternoon full of artistic talent was what teachers and parents experienced, observing and admiring the boys and girls who participated in the “Sandino, inspiration of childhood” Painting Contest, an activity developed by the municipality, through the Directorate of Culture and Historical Heritage.

In the contest held this Friday, May 24, at the Lolita Soriano House Museum, Pedro Pablo Castillo, Director of the Directorate of Culture and Historical Heritage, reported that more than 80 children from the different libraries and Houses of Culture are participating in the contest. and Creativity of the capital.

"The activity aims to promote creativity and interest in art in children, they are using different techniques such as colored pencils, watercolors, chalk, acrylic paint, it also consists of promoting knowledge of our national heroes, such as General Sandino is, for our heroine Blanquita Estela Aráuz Pineda,” said Castillo.

At the same time, he announced that the award ceremony will be held this coming June 4 in greeting to Children's Week, where the participants will receive recognition and prizes for the first three places "the drawings will be evaluated by a jury, they will deliberate and choose to the winners.”

Génesis Lucia López, student at the Otto de la Rocha House of Culture and Creativity, expressed that she has been practicing this discipline since she was 10 years old and that her expectation is to demonstrate her talent to the other participants.

“General Sandino is our National Hero, he left a great legacy, he fought a lot against foreigners to be able to free us and have peace in Nicaragua, I invite the children to train in art, which is very beautiful, they teach very well here” , expressed López.
