The Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, in coordination with the National Technological Institute INATEC, held on the afternoon of this Thursday, May 9, the IV edition of the National Amateur Swimming Championship “Nicaragua Paz y Dignidad”, in the most modern pools in Central America .

This competition had the participation of 140 athletes, amateur students from the different Technology Centers in the country, including Masaya, Granada, Rivas, León and Chinandega, as reported by Enrique Armas Rosales, Vice Mayor of Managua.

“We have been holding similar tournaments in conjunction with INATEC, with the Sports Institute over the last few years, last year the boys and girls from the Northern Caribbean won, we are going to have a nice tournament that becomes an event that fills all participants with pride, we are in the pools that host the Central American games, where the largest and most important swimming events have been held since 2017,” said Armas.

Kevin Alfonso Lacayo, participant from Ometepe Island, expressed that these activities are very good, since they not only promote technical education, but also encourage sports in young people.

“First of all it is to meet people, because the meeting is national, where we are students from the different Technical Centers of Nicaragua, enjoy the time and see what happens with the results,” said Lacayo.

Meanwhile, colleague Walter Sáenz, Deputy Director of INATEC, pointed out that these creative days began in the month of April, where students demonstrate enthusiasm in participating and developing in this sporting discipline, educational and sporting activities that are promoted by the Good government.

The sporting event took place in the men's and women's categories, where the athletes showed their skill to obtain first places.
