The joy of walkable streets came to the families of the Laureles Sur neighborhood

Families from the Laureles Sur neighborhood of District VII, accompanied the Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda Alvarado, during a supervision tour of the 13-block road improvement project with a stabilized base of select cement, a work that will also include the application of asphalt coating in 5 blocks of these, through the Streets for the People Program.

During the tour, the mayor of the capital pointed out that the work transforms the lives of more than 1,670 families in this sector.

“We have been addressing these road issues little by little in all the neighborhoods and communities, these families are very grateful to Commander Daniel and our Vice President, Compañera Rosario for having brought this project, here was a riverbed street, it was impassable, not even The brothers and sisters who own caponeras came in, so for the families that we deliver this project to them it is a happiness,” said Mayor Rueda.

At the same time, he reported that for this year they plan to serve more than 52 blocks in 9 neighborhoods of this District VII.

The inhabitants showed their gratitude for this work that will guarantee safety and well-being. They waited many years to see their streets in better conditions.

“These streets were impassable, not even motorcycles could enter, only us on foot, now people who have their vehicles can enter, before they had to leave them at the entrance, this is a good job that our President is doing in all the neighborhoods, everywhere he is carrying out street projects, now we as residents have to take care of our streets, because if we don't take care of them, no one else is going to take care of them," said the protagonist Aura Ortez.

To date, the Streets for the People Program has made progress of 24.81 percent, which means 351.50 blocks of the 1,417 blocks projected to be served this year.
