New road connection will facilitate access to Districts V and VII

The 4,800 inhabitants of the Carlos Núñez neighborhood of District VII, celebrated with a day of medical care, face-painting clowns and piñatas, the inauguration of the 6-block road improvement project that was in its natural state, with a stabilized base of select cement and the application of asphalt coating (cement soil), a new modality of the Streets for the People Program.

The colleague, Eliezer López, Delegate of the commune of District VII, announced that, with these 6 internal blocks, they connect the residents of the Villa Venezuela, Reparto Schick and Annex Villa Libertad sectors.

“Today, April 19, National Peace Day in Nicaragua, we are inaugurating 6 blocks of asphalt coating, where the investment has been more than 1.5 million córdobas, we want to highlight that this project is new, since we have made the base of soil cement, these will be more durable than traditional asphalt streets, it is a very popular sector of our district, these blocks will allow the improvement of the road connection of all the surrounding neighborhoods,” López explained.

Likewise, he announced that with this work the Streets for the People Program is advancing successfully with 23.94 percent, a little more than 339 blocks served of the 1,417 that will be executed this year.

The protagonist Alejandra Soza stated that it was 34 years of waiting to see her streets improved, “all these streets were pure stone, we couldn't pass because they were also full of mountains, now that the streets are good we will be happy to pass through here, I am going to the health center and I will walk calmly through these streets, without anything happening to me, I thank God and our president first, since he did this beautiful work.”

In the last 14 years, the Carlos Núñez neighborhood has received road improvement and storm drainage works, in addition to the delivery of 10 decent homes and this year with the Streets for the People Program, the municipality will deliver more than 56 new blocks in 9 neighborhoods, of this district of the capital.
