Nicaragua scene of great cycling race

With the participation of 450 athletes, the Managua Mayor's Office in coordination with Baker Nica and the Alexis Argüello Sports Movement, held for the first time in Nicaragua the Critérium Nica Bike Race competition, in Puerto Salvador Allende, on the morning of this Sunday, March 10. March.

The sporting activity was divided into four categories: Children, Youth, Unified Master and Elite, where the first three places in each level were awarded, as reported by Noel González, Sports Director of the municipality.

“This event is being held for the first time in Nicaragua, giving healthy recreation spaces to children, young people and adults, cash prizes will be awarded to the first three places, there are prizes from the different brands that have supported us and we thank the Port Salvador Allende for opening his doors, to be able to hold this event here,” said González.

At the same time, he explained that the participants competed for approximately half an hour, on a circuit that is 1.4 kilometers long.

The athletes showed their skill on the track, from the smallest to the largest, fighting to obtain first, second or third place, in addition to feeling the adrenaline and enjoying the sport they are passionate about.

"I am participating in the U-17 category, since I was little my family has instilled it in me, they all practice this sport, especially my dad, he is the one who has supported me, cycling is a good sport and in this competition at least I hope win third place and I invite young people to practice some sport,” said young Aní Santiago Reyes.

Thanks to the opportunities provided by the Sandinista Government, sport continues to grow in Nicaragua, creating recreational spaces and encouraging children, youth and adults to develop in different sports disciplines.
