120 works will be built in the capital to mitigate the effects of winter

From the Camilo Chamorro neighborhood, in District VI, the Winter 2024 Plan was presented, which plans to carry out 120 mitigation works, as well as the cleaning and desanding of Managua's major and minor drainage system.

For this year 2024, the Winter Plan has an investment of 932 million 200 thousand córdobas. Of them, 25 million 100 thousand córdobas will be invested in environmental education programs, adaptation to climate change and management of protected areas. In infrastructure works, it is planned to invest 846 million 800 thousand córdobas and in cleaning the drainage system, 60 million 300 thousand córdobas will be allocated.

This planning was presented by Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado, who expressed that these investments that have been made through the Winter Plan are to reduce vulnerability in different areas.

“Among the main components is the investment in infrastructure, not only in the lining of this Camilo Chamorro channel, we are going to be attending to the channel lining of the part of the Waspán neighborhood, we continue serving in District I, which is a "A very important storm drainage project, which also includes an asphalt coating component, so all of these projects have benefited the population enormously, but above all, they have eliminated critical points," said the mayor of the capital.

This announcement was made known, where the II stage of the lining of the channel and the construction of a bridge box is being carried out in the Camilo Chamorro neighborhood, which will benefit more than 14 thousand families in this sector of District VI.
