More Baseball with Williamsport Little League National Championship

The Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, through the Sports Directorate, inaugurated the Williamsport National Little League Championship, to elect the representative of Nicaragua in the Latin American Championship in 2024 in Panama.

For this season there will be 24 teams divided into the Minor, Major, Junior and Senior categories, who will compete for approximately 4 months to be the representative of the country, reported Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales, during the opening ceremony.

“Starting another great baseball tournament, another great sporting event for the children and youth of Nicaragua, here in the Roberto Clemente baseball park, in the Luis Alfonso Velásquez park, a stadium built by the Government of Commander Daniel and Compañera Rosario, starting the Williamsport 2024 leagues, in our country,” Armas shared.

These Little League games will be played at the Roberto Clemente Stadium, located in the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores Park, the Hugo Chávez Complex in the 14 de Septiembre neighborhood and on the ENEL Central field.

Once the champion team is found, it will represent Nicaragua in the coming months in the Latin American Tournament, which will be held from July 19 to 28, 2024 in Panama, with the participation of teams from Central and South America.

The team that wins will represent Latin America in this year's Little League World Series based in Williamsport, Pennsylvania (United States).
