Children and young people will strengthen their abilities with martial arts

Promoting discipline, confidence and values in children and young people, through sports, Good Government continues with the opening of classes in the different academies of the municipality, inaugurating taekwondo practices today in the District's Multipurpose Gym SAW.

The municipality has this academy that carries out training on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon, at the Alexis Argüello Sports Center from Monday to Friday, from 2:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon, and in the Roberto Huembes gym from Monday to Friday from 10 in the morning to 12 noon and from 2 to 5 in the afternoon, indicated the Secretary of the Managua Council, Jennifer Porras López.

“Starting the year 2024 of taekwondo classes, with an enrollment that amounts to 150 boys, girls and adolescents in this sporting discipline, we have the capacity to serve more than 80 children in this gym at the same time, however We have other sports disciplines, we have 5 instructors, we want to highlight the good policies and strategies of our Good Government, which is promoted by our Commander Daniel and Compañera Rosario on sports issues,” said Porras.

Registration is always open and is completely free. The requirements that athletes must present are to be between 5 and 18 years of age, present a photocopy of the boy or girl's birth certificate and a photocopy of the ID of the parent or guardian, reported the coach Janesky Solís.

"We are starting the discipline of taekwondo, which is full of values like a martial art, which are discipline, righteousness, courtesy, loyalty and we are promoting this through each of the teachers, so that each student to enter our academies, in addition to learning a sport, they learn how martial taekwondo is,” Solís added.

As a result of the work promoted by the Sandinista Government in promoting sports, from 2014 to today more than 4 thousand athletes have been recruited in 35 municipal academies, distributed in 13 sports disciplines, including chess, cycling, skateboarding, volleyball, soccer, among others.
