The Chontales Toros win the Final Four Men's Volleyball Championship

A night full of pure adrenaline was experienced this Sunday, January 22, Los Toros de Chontales were crowned champions against the Frente Sur Rivas team, during the final of the First Men's Volleyball Championship Final Four 2024, organized by the Mayor's Office of Managua and the National Volleyball Federation.

The 4 best teams in the country participated in this first edition, including Las Panteras de Managua, Los Jaguares de la UAM, Frente Sur Rivas and the northern team Los Toros de Chontales, who have won first places in recent consecutive years.

For three days, the fans and team members enjoyed the heart-stopping matches at the España Sports Center, where everyone played against everyone.

“Satisfied with this last game of Final Four 2024, it is important that the non-traditional teams are in the final and above all that the boys are putting the name of their department very high. Little by little we have been growing and academies have been established in the departments, which is important because they become the seedbed for national volleyball,” said Noel González, Sports Director of the municipality.

González highlighted that the opening of sports spaces allows young people to integrate through academies into a range of sports options, which guarantees a continuous process in the training of new sports promises.

It is important to highlight that Los Toros de Chontales, who took the precious first place trophy, after winning 3 sets of 4 against the Southern Front, in a difficult and intense match, have two brothers immersed in this sport, Cindy Fonseca who is the coach and Víctor Fonseca, captain of the team and who was the most valuable player of the tournament.

“We are grateful to God, because we managed to win this highly demanding tournament and we feel full of joy, we faced the best in the country and obtained excellent results. Thanks to everyone involved, because they gave us the opportunity to be champions and to participate in this event,” Fonseca highlighted.
