Everything prepared for this year's training at the Basketball Academies

Children, adolescents and young people showed up on the afternoon of this Monday, January 15, at the basketball courts of the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores park, to register and begin the sports training of this discipline, which is provided completely free of charge in the academies of the capital commune.

The Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas Rosales, shared with the students and parents the enthusiasm of having a year 2024 with new expectations and professional growth for the future promises of Nicaragua.

“We have almost 200 men and women training today in this first session. Not only will the basketball academy in Luis Alfonso Park be operating, but also in the Hugo Chávez Sports Complex in Colonia 14 de Septiembre and in the beautiful field at the Amistad Japan park, we will have training Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3 to 5 in the afternoon, here on the fields of the Luis Alfonso Velásquez park, we will have training Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at the Amistad Japan park and Monday practices to Friday from 3 to 5 in the afternoon at the Colonia 14 de Septiembre Complex, Hugo Chávez,” explained the mayor of the capital.

Armas, highlighted that registrations are unlimited and totally free, where children from 6 to 17 year olds can enroll, he also added that the students will be trained by great legends and teachers of this sporting discipline.

For this year the categories are divided into U10, which ranges from ages 7 to 9, U12 category, which covers 10 to 11 years, U13 category, which is 12-year-old children, and U15 category, which covers adolescents from 13 to 14. years and U17 category with ages from 15 to 17 years.

These recreational spaces are thanks to the efforts made by the Sandinista Government, through the Mayor's Office of Managua, which aims to promote sports growth in Nicaraguan children and youth.
