More than 150 children from the different categories of the Roberto Clemente Baseball Academy received sports supplies from the municipal authorities on the afternoon of this Wednesday, December 6, at the sports field of the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores park.
The delivery of packages was carried out by Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales, who shared with the children the support that the Good Government provides to sports in its different disciplines.
"We are delivering sports equipment for the kids who play baseball, who learn here at the Roberto Clemente academy, in the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Park, to the kids in the Pee Wee category, infant, pre-childhood, kids 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 years old, the package includes gloves, balls, bats and everything new,” highlighted the capital mayor.
Likewise, he pointed out that sport has had a positive, widespread impact, which has been noticed in volleyball, soccer and baseball, and it has also been developing in the disciplines of karate, taekwondo and swimming.
Danelia Gutiérrez, mother of the family, expressed that this is a great help for children to develop in sports and that this delivery is a great benefit since there are children who have limited resources.
The athlete Zach Vílchez thanked God and the coaches for allowing them to be part of this academy, “what I have learned my coaches have taught me and I invite children and young people to develop in the sport that they like the most, so that they do not do bad things.”
This is the second delivery of the year that the Sandinista Government makes, in support of the children of the 12 baseball academies that exist in the capital, schools that open their doors daily, to professionalize the future promises that will make the land of lakes and volcanoes high.
