The Lionesses of Managua are crowned champions in the final of the first edition of Women's Volleyball Four 2023

An exciting night was experienced this Sunday, December 3, in the final of the Four 2023 Women's Volleyball Championship, where the Lioness team of the Mayor's Office of Managua faced off against the UAM team, at the Nicaraguan Sports Institute, an event organized by the municipality.

With a score of 3 to 1, the Lioness team was crowned champions, defeating the UAM team, after three days of competition facing All against All.

Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado, who presented the champions with the trophy, shared that the 4 teams that participated have been crowned first places, for 3 consecutive years.

“In the final were the Lionesses of the Mayor's Office of Managua and the UAM, we are very happy with these results, there were three days in which the teams of the Tren del Norte Real Estelí, the Jaguares of the UAM, the Panthers and the Lionesses participated, in this first edition of women's volleyball," said the mayor of the capital.

For this edition, there were foreign reinforcements that gave more visibility to this tournament, among them from Honduras, El Salvador and Costa Rica.

The champion Lolette Rodríguez, from the Lioness team, expressed that it was a very difficult game, but today they showed that they are the national champions.

"We thank the public who was present, supporting us all the time and also those who did so through social networks, the players we faced are of a very strong level and we had to pull out our claws to get the points and win, what helped us a lot was concentration and confidence as a team,” Rodríguez said.
