With all the energy to win the first places, 130 athletes from the different districts of the capital participated in the final of the athletics competition, held this Saturday, November 25 on the synthetic track of the Nicaraguan Sports Institute (IND), as part of the Managua 2023 Youth Games.

The athletics track has been the setting since the beginning of this competition, where children and young people in the categories U11 (8, 9, 10 years old), U13 (11, 12 years old), U15 (13, 14 years old), U18 (15 years old) , 16, 17 years), U20 (18, 19 years), Senior (more than 20 years and older) and Federated Category for high-performance athletes, have put their speed into practice, both in the male and female branches.

Auxiliadora Lacayo, the municipality's athletics coach, reported that this is the third sporting event held this year, thanks to the support that the Good Government provides to sports in its different disciplines.

“It is adrenaline for the children, this is a seedbed that we are seeing between each of the academies that we have, these children come up and this is a way to attract them, to be doing this type of events, so that they feel encouraged, in addition to the medal award that we give them, more than delighted, more than in love,” said Lacayo.

Andrea Ximena Castillo, participant in this final, expressed her joy at representing Nicaragua in the Central American games in El Salvador, “a spectacular experience, so I am recognizing all the effort I have made in my training and the truth is I feel very happy to represent to my country in these games.”

Each runner demonstrated their speed in tests from 60, 80, 100, 150, 200, 300 meters and 4 x 100 meter relays.
