










Municipal authorities together with music, dance and theater students celebrated the first anniversary of the Lolita Soriano House Museum with an artistic gala. The cultural fan was held on the afternoon of this Tuesday, September 19 and featured the students of the Otto de la Rocha, Camilo Zapata and Alejandro Cuadra Culture Houses.
The activity was chaired by the Secretary of the Managua Council, Jennifer Porras López, the Director of Culture of the municipality, Griselda Rivas and Geraldine Baquedano, Director of the Lolita Soriano Museum.
“We are celebrating the first anniversary of the Lolita Soriano museum, our first House of Culture and Creativity, guided by our Good Government, by Commander Daniel and Compañera Rosario, who, through the policies that are promoted, accompany this national effort from the municipalities, these spaces that come to strengthen the values of childhood and adolescence,” said Porras.
The Lolita Soriano Museum is a space for cultural exhibition and promotion. In its first year of service to the community, it was visited by 2,500 people, with art and culture workshops, conferences and training aimed at artisans, more training in creative economy, reported the director of the Museum.
“A museum that fulfills cultural openness and the legacy of Doña Lolita, an innate cultural promoter of the 20th century, who opened the doors to great artists in this country and today also opening the doors to artists who are being born in the Houses of Culture and Creativity,” he added.
The house museum is open for free from Monday to Friday from 8:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon and shows Soriano's work, from music, sheet music, records that belonged to his personal collection, a library that is part of his intellectual work, such as monographs of the departments of Nicaragua, bibliography from his personal collection, a children's corner, a space where activities are carried out with children, readings, storytelling, promoting reading in the youngest members of the home.
