To the sound of philharmonics and rockets, the promisers and devotees said goodbye to the image of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, who returns once again to his throne in Las Sierritas de Managua. The image left the Santo Domingo de Managua church, at 7:15 in the morning, loaded with culture and tradition, got on the boat and toured part of the Oriental market until reaching the Gancho de Caminos, where he found the image of Santo Domingo de Abajo and began its 10-kilometer journey, until it reached Las Sierritas de Managua.
Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado and Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales accompanied the image of the Patron Saint of Managuas to the La Morita sector, highlighting the tradition of the people of Managua and the family unit in which they celebrate their traditions.
Almost 2 hours after noon, the traditionalists and devotees of Santo Domingo arrived at the La Morita sector, to the rhythm of the marimba, philharmonics and the sound of gunpowder; but with great spirits he advanced to the church of Las Sierritas, where he arrived at 5:00 in the afternoon and will remain there until next year, when he makes his next 10-day visit to the capital city.
At the farewell to the image, Mayor Rueda expressed that, in these festivities there was a lot of devotion, faith, tradition and folklore, "the traditional festivities of Managua, by the grace of God, passed in a calm and safe way for the families and especially all for the promising ones, who visit us not only from Managua, but from the different municipalities and departments of the country”.
In the same way, he asked Santo Domingo to intercede before God so that peace, harmony and celebrations continue to reign, not only in Managua, but at the national level.
The capital authorities, at the same time, highlighted the efforts developed as the Mayor's Office and with the different institutions, which allowed the Traditional Festivals of Managua to take place in order, security and family unity.
