Edipcia Ferrufino together with her family, for twelve years lived exposed to vulnerability and the danger that the roof of her house would one day fall on them, that anguish today is part of the past, thanks to the Dignified Housing Program that built her home in the Carlos Núñez neighborhood, located in District II.
Ferrufino works as a housekeeper and her old house was built of wood, zinc, the floor was dirt, the roof was totally damaged and at any moment it would collapse, but she will now be able to live peacefully next to her husband, her children and her parents. .
“God heard my prayers, I always prayed and asked God to give me the opportunity to fix my house, but he not only fixed it, he built me a new one and that was God, through President Daniel Ortega, who sent me this blessing, I sent the letter to the mayor's office at the end of last month and in less than a month they gave me an answer," said Ferrufino.
During the delivery of the new house, Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales shared with the residents that this is the 84th house that the program builds in the neighborhood.
“Today this August 8, Santo Domingo, Commander Daniel Ortega and compañera Rosario have performed a miracle for compañera Edipcia, of delivering the house that she so much requested in her prayers, this is house number 84 being built in the neighborhood and add the other 100 that have been delivered to the other coastal neighborhoods, the other 100 from the La Primavera neighborhood, the other hundred-odd from the Dimitrov neighborhood and so we go neighborhood by neighborhood, district by district, our government has been benefiting the thousands of residents who need a decent roof, decent walls and a decent floor”, Vice Mayor Armas valued.
In the Carlos Núñez neighborhood, in the last 10 years, the municipality has invested more than 36 million córdobas in road infrastructure, water and sanitation, and storm drainage projects, improving the standard of living of more than 12,000 inhabitants.
