Families from the capital enjoy culture and traditions at the First Cowboy Festival

Last weekend, the First Cowboy Festival 2023 was held in Managua, organized by the Good Government, through the different institutions of the National Commission for Creative Economy, on the northeast side of Plaza Soberanía, on the 29th and 30th of July.

An activity that is being developed in all municipalities, with the aim of promoting entrepreneurs and producers in the country.

During the inauguration of the festival, the Mayor, Reyna Rueda Alvarado, explained that this initiative, in addition to being replicated throughout the country, coincides with the patron saint festivities of the municipalities.

"All the mayors and deputy mayors of the department are gathered to start the First Cowboy Festival that coincides with our patron saint festivities, this festival coincides with the patron saint festivities of Juigalpa, Matagalpa, Estelí, Nueva Guinea, we are very proud of the peace that reigns in this country, which allows us to celebrate in a big way, with the family, in harmony”, said the mayor of the capital.

With the first edition of the festival, Managuas enjoyed an afternoon full of culture, equestrian parade, philharmonic music, gastronomy and bull riding.

Humberto González, Secretary of the Creative and Orange Economy of the Presidency of the Republic, expressed that it is an honor to be part of this event.

“We are very happy that a season has begun, in which we are visiting the different departments, through this important plan of Cowboy Festivals, Commander Daniel Ortega and Compañera Rosario Murillo have directed that, from the municipal mayors in Together with the national institutions, and particularly, with Nicaragua Diseña, the most important design platform in the region, there is an accompaniment, so that we can stage and make visible the different entrepreneurs, producers, Creative Industries and Cultural, so that our people can, through a festival, be able to honor production, the economy, the work of the family and youth,” González reported.

José Benito Aragón, Vice Minister of Family Economy, expressed that, with this initiative, the important role played by the family economy sector is also being recognized, and it is the bovine, goat and equine sectors that boost the economy.

"A recognition from the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity to that sector of the economy as important as the bovine sector, which has a high potential to reduce poverty, behind a cattle there is a whole chain that is dedicated to making different products or ventures that are derived from cattle”, affirmed Aragón.
