In the Ciudad Jardín sector of the Oriental market, the municipality is executing a mitigation work to reduce a critical point due to flooding in the area, which will guarantee security to the merchants and visitors of this populous shopping center.
The works consist of replacing and expanding 75 linear meters of drainage with more than 50 years of existence, already corroded metal, by 60-inch concrete pipe, which will increase water collection.
This mitigation work is part of the 82 projects of the Winter Plan and constitutes one of the stages of the replacement of the storm drainage pipe, which extends from the La Caimana area to the North highway, in the ENABAS sector.
To find out about the progress of this project, Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado toured the area and shared with the merchants the efforts being made to reduce critical points, guaranteeing the safety and well-being of families in the capital.
“In 2021, 65 linear meters were replaced in the El Galillo sector, with a 60-inch-diameter concrete pipe and in this way we have been replacing and expanding the storm drainage pipe; In the same way, work was done in the La Caimana sector and on the North highway, in front of ENABAS, this work contributes to reducing the vulnerability of the merchants and visitors to this market,” said Mayor Rueda.
