In this tribute, the Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas Rosales, remembered the three-time champion as the greatest athlete in the history of Nicaragua, "one of the most important Nicaraguans in the history of our country, a beloved Nicaraguan in Nicaragua, idolized in Nicaragua and loved all over the world, because every day, despite the fact that 14 years have passed since he passed to another plane of life, the world is still talking about the Grand Champion Alexis Argüello, the best junior lightweight of all time”.

Mrs. Karla Rizo, Argüello's widow, thanked the Good Government on behalf of her family, "for always keeping Alexis' legacy alive, for building so many sports facilities, so that more kids continue to join sports and can be like Alexis Argüello, We hope that they continue to build and continue to be born more Alexis Arguello in our country, so that Nicaragua can move forward through sports."

Young people from the Alexis Argüello Sports Movement, the champions Rosendo Álvarez, René and Félix Alvarado, gathered at the monument to this benchmark of Nicaraguan boxing, located in the Plaza de las Victorias, who expressed their admiration for Alexis Argüello.
