Adrenaline and youth resistance prevailed in the Athletics Championship

The Athletics competitions began at the Managua 2023 Youth Games, which housed participating athletes from districts 1, 2 and 3 of Managua, as well as invited academies from the departments of Rivas and Carazo.

This competition took place on the synthetic track of the Nicaraguan Sports Institute (IND) and was organized by the Municipal Sports Department.

The sports day included the categories U11 (9-10 years), U13 (11-12 years), U15 (13-14 years), U18 (15-17 years), U20 (18-19 years), over 20 years and the federated category for high performance athletes.

Noel González, Director of Sports of the commune, expressed that this is one of the more than 20 sports disciplines that are being promoted since the 2023 Youth Games.

Participating in these competitions helps them to recreate healthily, said the young Silviana Nahomi Avilés, "athletics has been one of the sports that I have not known for a short time, but it makes me very happy to compete and share with my classmates, I invite the young to integrate and practice this sport discipline”.
