The arrival of winter and Mother's Day generates excellent sales in the Oriental market

Concluding the first fortnight of May, the merchants of the Oriental market report excellent sales, thanks to the preparations to receive winter and the celebrations of Mother's Day, as reported by Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales, during a tour of the market largest in the country.

"A few days after the celebration of the Nicaraguan mother, sales are going at a good pace, for two reasons, first, the proximity of Mother's Day and second, the beginning of the winter season, many people are coming from Chinandega, León, Boaco , Chontales, Rio San Juan, from the area of our Nicaraguan Caribbean, to buy thanks to promotions and price discounts, that gives sales a very special dynamism, here in the Oriental”, shared Armas.

During the tour, the Administrative Director of the Managua Municipal Market Corporation (COMMEMA), Rosa María Lazo, explained that, in this shopping center, at the same time that it receives thousands of buyers, it is preparing to receive winter with a special cleaning plan for the drainage system and the execution of projects for the benefit of the population.

"In coordination with the Mayor's Office and the Merchants Association, we are preparing for the arrival of winter, to avoid flooding we are working on cleaning the gutters, we are also going to build the tripe shed in the central part of the market, in benefit of 85 merchants who work in this area and of the buyers who visit this point daily, and we are going to carry out the second stage of the gutter construction project in zone 1”, stated Lazo.

For this season, merchants expect to exceed last year's sales with 1,500 million córdobas, thanks to economic policies that promote entrepreneurship.
