With the participation of more than 250 athletes from the academies of the 7 districts of Managua, the first Taekwondo Championship began this weekend, as part of the 2023 Youth Games.
In this first event that is taking place at the Alexis Argüello Sports Center, there is the participation of 13 Taekwondo academies, where this Saturday children from 4 years old to 12 years old saw action, for this Sunday athletes are averaged, youth and adults.
"The Youth Games are a way to recreate ourselves in all sports, this time Taekwondo played and in this first event we are including children, which is magnificent to prepare them for the future," said teacher Janeski Solís.
Isaac Zapata, 13 years old and an athlete in this discipline, affirmed that playing sports helps them develop better, "this tournament seems excellent to us, because we can also make friends with the other academies."
Taekwondo in Nicaragua is a sports discipline that has grown significantly in recent years, as a result of the support provided by the Sandinista Government to the sport. Currently, this martial art has more than 70 academies nationwide and have given good results in competitions. international.
