On Paseo Xolotlán, the final of the First 5 Baseball Tournament took place, which is a sports discipline with elements of Handball and traditional baseball.
Baseball 5 is an urban version of the classic baseball and softball games, a fast, young and dynamic sports discipline that follows the same principles and fundamentals governed by the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC).
Each game area of this sport is square of 18 meters, with a base in each corner and a distance of 13 meters between each one of them, in a period of 5 innings.
It is played with 5 people per team, the defensive player will be in the field when the batter hits the ball and distributed in the positions of first base, second base, third base, shortstop and outfielder.
Different teams from the neighborhoods of Managua faced each other for two months and it was an initiative of the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, in coordination with the embassies of Venezuela and Cuba in Nicaragua.
The competition intends to incorporate and develop this new sports discipline and be one more opportunity for Nicaragua to have representation at a national and international level.
