With great optimism, the Nicaraguan delegation was flagged at Plaza Soberanía, which will participate in the fifth edition of the ALBA 2023 Sports Games, to be held from April 21 to 29, in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The Nicaraguan delegation will be made up of more than 400 athletes, coaches and delegates from the different sports federations of the country, who will play in the cities of Caracas, Guaira and Miranda, with the participation of the 10 member countries of ALBA and the Russian Federation. as a guest country.
During these sports games, Nicaragua will compete for first place in 29 of the 33 participating sports disciplines, as reported by Comrade Marlon Torres, Minister of Sports.
“We thank the people and Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela that with their brotherhood and solidarity allows us to participate with a large delegation in 29 sports, more than 330 athletes from all the departments of the country and the Caribbean regions, a total of 448 people. make up the delegation, including coaches, delegates, doctors. We will be traveling on Monday and Tuesday to Caracas and returning on Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 30th,” Torres shared.
For his part, Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales highlighted that this delegation is the largest of Nicaraguan athletes in an international event, "since in 1982 Nicaragua was with a huge number of athletes in the Central American and Caribbean Games held in Havana , Cuba, so a good harvest of medals is expected”.
