Explosive evening of International Boxing on Paseo Xolotlán

During the night of last Saturday March 25 and before hundreds of families from the capital, the municipality together with the promoter Gemelo Promotions, developed a Professional Boxing evening, which took place on the sand of the Beach Volleyball courts.

This evening featured 9 bouts, including the stellar bout between former world boxing champion René "Gemelo" Alvarado against Salvadoran Ricardo "El Diamante" Cortez, at 140 pounds, where the Nicaraguan boxer won by knockout at the third round, shared Noel González, Director of Sports of the commune.

"With the determined support of the Mayor's Office of Managua, in this setting of Paseo Xolotlán, where we have created the necessary conditions for this evening to take place, as well as for the public to enjoy the 9 fights," said González.

The 9 bouts were scheduled for 4 rounds each, in the super lightweight, super featherweight, super flyweight, featherweight and lightweight categories, where young athletes from the Managua City Hall boxing academies participated, as part of the blanks in his sports career.
