Williamsport Children's Baseball League Starts

In support and promotion of sports in its different disciplines, the Mayor's Office of Citizen Power of Managua inaugurated the Williamsport Children's Baseball League, in which more than 350 children and adolescents from 12 sports academies in the capital will participate.

The games will take place over 3 months and also in the departments and the teams that qualify will participate in a national championship, which will be held in the capital and the winning team will represent Nicaragua in the Latin American championship, to be held in Maracaibo, Venezuela, in next July and later the grand final that will take place in Pennsylvania, United States.

This inauguration was attended by Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales, who expressed that, "Nicaragua will once again host the Williamsport Latin American Children's Baseball Tournament in 2024."

In the same way, he recalled that in 2022 Nicaragua hosted the Williamsport Latin American Children's Baseball Championship and the pinolero team from the colony league 14 de Septiembre beat the Venezuelan team, managing to reach the World Cup and represent Nicaragua and Latin America in Pennsylvania , United States, after 50 years of not being able to reach that step.
