Electrifying Evening of Amateur Boxing

The Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, through the Sports Directorate, held an amateur boxing evening at the Roberto Huembes Gymnasium on the afternoon of this Wednesday, February 15, with the three academies of the Municipality.

To promote talent in this sport, these boxing evenings will take place every 15 days at the three gyms, Roger Deshon, Roberto Huembes and Iván Montenegro, where more than 300 young people from 6 to 17 practice for free.

During the sports meeting, 20 young people participated, who gave 10 electrifying fights, including 1 of women.

"One more evening of boxing, this with the promotion of new young talents and looking for those who will be part of the Flacos Explosivos of the Mayor's Office of Managua, and with this year we are looking for our fifth consecutive crown of the Alexis Argüello Cup ”, said Noel González, Director of Sports of the commune.

The 17-year-old Irene Barrios is one of the competitors, “the training sessions have been very hard, I have been here for 3 years, learning this sport, I have learned many things, including discipline and resistance”.
