Authorities from the Mayor's Office of Managua and the Nicaraguan Basketball Federation, affirmed on the morning of this Monday, February 13, that the Central American Sports Capital will host the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 qualifier.
This Central American tournament will begin next Wednesday, February 22 at the cathedral of Latin American basketball, the Alexis Arguello Sports Center, and will end on the 26th of this month.
“We are getting ready to start the Central American basketball tournament, a qualifier for major events in terms of higher-level men's basketball, which confirms Nicaragua as the Capital of Central American Sports, the Carlos Ulloa superior basketball tournament, the women's league, has already taken off. of first division volleyball, the boxing federation is warming up for the Alexis Argüello Cup national tournament, Nicaragua continues to lead the sport, organizing a large number of important events”, said Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales.
David Rosario, coach of the national team, stated that they will put all their effort and work to achieve the objectives.
The teams that will participate will be Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Costa Rica. The pinolera troupe will debut this February 22 against Honduras at 7:00 p.m.
