In order to improve the quality of life of families and at the same time be friendly to the environment, the Mayor's Office of Managua in coordination with the Ministry of Family Economy (MEFCCA), benefited this Friday, February 10, 100 leading families of the Villa Jerusalén urbanization, with the delivery of the environmental bonus promoted by the "Ecological Houses" project.
Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado explained that the bonus consists of a rainwater harvesting system, made up of a water tank with the necessary piping installed in the house, to capture and store rainwater, plus the necessary supplies for a family garden and a composter to process the organic material produced in the homes.
"There are 100 leading families that are being served, here we have delivered diplomas, knowledge, tools so that families can implement a garden in their homes, through the pilot plan project that began in December, with the installation of a tank that it grabs 1,200 liters of water, we also have entrepreneurial initiatives such as fish production, thanks to the training of the Ministry of Family Economy”, explained Rueda.
Installing and promoting these systems in the houses of the protagonists is part of the environmental preservation plan of the municipality of Managua 2021-2026.
Don Donald del Carmen Narváez, was one of the protagonists of the "Ecological Houses" and thanked the Good Government for the support and tools they have provided.
"What remains for us is to treat the plants with love, also provide support to the other colleagues who do not know much about the subject and explain the composting process, since our Commander and our Companion provide us with all the tools, to have a yard and an ecological house,” said Narváez.
"Ecological Houses" is a strategy that comes to benefit families, guaranteeing them access to water, tools, seeds for the production of vegetables for self-consumption.
