Managua Council elects Juries of Conscience for the year 2023

In a solemn special session, on the morning of this Sunday, February 5, the Honorable Council of Managua elected 100 members who will serve in the court of conscience juries of the First Criminal District Court, corresponding to the year 2023, complying with the established in Law 232, "Law of Reforms to the Code of Criminal Instruction" in its article number 1.

The selection was attended by Dr. Irma Laguna Cruz, First Criminal District Judge of Managua, who explained that this election is held on the first Sunday of February, in compliance with the constitutional mandate of the Supreme Court of Justice, to address the processes that They are under the Penal Instruction Code.

For her part, Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado explained that the selected members were proposed by the councilors of the different benches of the capital's Council, members of the Supreme Court of Justice and the Public Ministry.

The disenfranchisement was carried out with an electronic tombola and they will serve for the period of 2023, as members of the court of conscience juries for the First Criminal District Court of Managua, whom the Judiciary will train to better exercise their functions.

This new list of jurors of conscience was certified by Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado, Judge Irma Laguna Cruz and Jennifer Porras, Secretary of the Managua Council, who signed the list of 100 selected citizens.
