Guitar and vocals concert in celebration of the 171st anniversary of Managua elevated to Capital

A cultural and artistic afternoon was lived this Saturday, February 4, at Hill 110 of the Manuel Fernández neighborhood in District VII, where the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua held a concert in tribute to the Capital, on its 171st anniversary of the appointment of Managua, as Capital of the Republic of Nicaragua.

This celebration was attended by the Secretary of the Managua Council, Jennifer Porras López, who shared that there are 171 years of history and struggle, in which the 89th anniversary of the passage to immortality of General Augusto C. Sandino is also commemorated this month. , to the heroes and martyrs of Hill 110, more than 30 young people who offered their lives for Nicaragua today.

"We are on a very special date, Managua our capital dresses up as a party, celebrating with great joy with the families, this government headed by Commander Daniel and Compañera Rosario, we have returned life, love, dignity to this capital, today Managua claimed with all its natural beauties, culture, gastronomy, celebrating in peace, in harmony, so much to celebrate this month,” said Porras.

Managua was declared Capital on February 5, 1852 by Fulgencio Vega, with the purpose of reconciling the deep differences between the parties of Granada and Leon, shared Clemente Guido, Director of Historical Heritage of the commune.

"It was not until 1958 that Managua really established itself as the capital and it never ceased to be, at this moment we commemorate it on Hill 110 in front of the presence of the heroes and martyrs of youth, who 44 years ago gave their lives for this freedom that we have in our country”, affirmed Guido.

The commemoration was accompanied by the Otto de la Rocha music group, the presentation of the singer-songwriter Martín Ruiz and the Aquetzali dance group.
