To search for new talents of the king of sports in Nicaragua, the Managua Mayor's Office, through the Sports Directorate, began classes at the Roberto Clemente Baseball Academy, in the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores Park.
"Starting this afternoon at the Roberto Clemente stadium, the baseball season of the baseball academies of the Mayor's Office of Managua, this year due to the guidance of Commander Daniel and the Vice President, Compañera Rosario Murillo, we are going to have more activity and more academies operating" , said Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales, during the inauguration, on the afternoon of this Thursday, January 26.
He stressed that the classes in this children's baseball academy will be from Monday to Thursday from 2:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon, in an age range of 4 to 17 years old and the requirements are the birth certificate of the baseball player and photocopy of the guardian's ID.
The academy extends its activities to the San Judas baseball field, Hugo Chávez stadium in Colonia 14 de Septiembre, Villa Progreso, Waspán Sur and the San Luis stadium.
These classes will also be taught by Professor Angélica Ramírez, who has stood out in the Nicaraguan baseball career and has raised the name of Nicaragua.
"We have 242 children, among different categories, our program as Mayor of Managua is going to have greater growth, due to the great initiative of opening the doors to all those children or parents who wish to undertake this sport, totally free," said Ramírez.
