This Thursday, December 15, Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales visited one more road improvement project that is being carried out in the Sócrates Sandino neighborhood of District V, as part of the Streets for the People 2022 Program.
The work consists of paving 5 blocks of streets that were on land and is a component of the comprehensive care program in this community, which includes storm drainage and sanitary sewerage works, with an investment of 12 million córdobas.
"They will be ready next week and the complete work will be completed in the last hours of next December 31, this brings more peace of mind, more security, more comfort to the residents of these neighborhoods, we leave them a completely clear access road , new, a clean road, because this used to be a channel, a garbage dump and now it is a beautiful street”, Armas highlighted.
Likewise, he announced that the storm drainage work eliminates a section of channel on which a street was built, which improves the access roads of the Sócrates Sandino and 30 de Mayo neighborhoods; through the installation of 110 linear meters of 72-inch pipes and the construction of a tunnel box of 39 linear meters, 2.5 meters wide and of variable height, ranging between 1.5 and 2.5 meters. In addition, 31 home connections to the sanitary sewer system.
"First of all, we thank God and our Good Government, this project has come true so far, it benefits all the number of parents, students, this was a channel, which presented unsanitary conditions, it was a garbage dump, but now it is going to disappear and we are having that restitution of rights in a new street”, said the director of the Bautista Horeb school in the community, Nohemí Palma.
Also, the Municipality in this neighborhood has invested a total of 18 million 189 thousand 589 córdobas, in the last 9 years, with the construction of 5 Decent Homes, 4 blocks with hydraulic concrete in 2013, the improvement of dirt streets in the years 2016 and 2017 and the asphalt resurfacing of 6 streets last year.
