With the objective of promoting the sport in the new generations, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, through the Sports Directorate, began this Saturday morning, December 10, the Beach Volleyball competition on the courts of Paseo Xolotlán, as part of the Managua 2022 Youth Games.
The under-18 competition was held on Saturday regular round and Sunday finals, with the participation of 16 male and 10 female couples, informed the Secretary of the Managua Council, Jennifer Porras López.
"From the Mayor's Office of Managua, we invite all families to join our sports academies with their children for free, we are organized from the neighborhoods in all the districts of the capital, with the different sports infrastructures, such as the Luis Park Alfonso Velásquez, Hugo Chávez sports complex, created by our Good Government and we are more and more committed to continue transforming those programs that we have dedicated to children and young people”, added the capital official.
Walter Abarca Casco, one of the young participants, expressed that this discipline helps them live together and work as a team and thanked the municipal authorities for the support provided in recent years.
In its second edition, the Managua 2022 Youth Games are a precursor sports platform, which contributes to the promotion of young talent in all disciplines, as part of the support provided by the Sandinista Government to sport, in coordination with different federations and the 11 academies of the city Hall.
