Mitigation work is carried out in the Monte Fresco neighborhood

Working for the safety and well-being of families in the capital, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua executes the construction of a retaining wall, through the Stabilization of Slope with Gabions in the channel of the Monte Fresco neighborhood, in District VI of the capital.

The work was supervised on the morning of this Tuesday, December 6, by Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado, who announced that the work consists of stabilizing 80 linear meters of gabions, with an investment of One million 50 thousand córdobas and brings benefits to 500 protagonists.

"We are supervising a critical point that borders Santa Elena and Monte Fresco, it is a natural channel that we have been working on since the beginning, inter-institutionally with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure with a bridge box, we eliminated at that moment a critical point where they were More than 400 families were affected, but it had been eroding, more so with the passage of Hurricane Julia, it weakened,” reported Rueda.

He also added that these projects are carried out in response to families who live in vulnerable areas and who were affected by the rains and are incorporated into the 2022 Winter Plan, which for this year contemplated the execution of 122 storm drainage works, but according to guidelines From the President, Commander Daniel and the Vice President, Compañera Rosario, another 23 projects were added, for a total of 145, with a budget investment of more than 188 million córdobas.

Don Pedro Pablo Aguilar, one of those affected, expressed his satisfaction with the work carried out by the Municipality, "we are being benefited from this project, we were at a critical point, my house was already collapsing, but with these works that the Mayor's Office is doing Thanks to our Heavenly Father, everything is being resolved, we thank the Government that responded to our call.

In this District VI until 2009 there were 15 critical points and currently it has been reduced to 7, with the execution of mitigation works, said the authorities of the capital.
