Handball discipline in action at the Youth Games

On the courts of the Nicaraguan Sports Institute, the Handball Championship was held this Sunday, December 4, as part of the Youth Games Managua 2022.

This competition was attended by Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales, who highlighted that 4 men's teams and 4 women's teams participate in this sports discipline, "it is a discipline that is giving good results to Nicaragua at the international level, this is part of that large number of sport that is being developed by the government of Commander Daniel and Compañera Rosario, in other decades the boys only practiced baseball, basketball, volleyball, now we have swimming, handball, among others, which we practice in very good facilities”.

Javier Jirón Hernández, President of the Nicaraguan Handball Federation, stated that this is the first day in the Youth Games, "starting next year we hope to do it with 10 men's and 10 women's teams, we have a good development of handball in 11 departments of the country, including Bluefields and Puerto Cabezas, very good players are coming, we currently have the youth team that was runner-up in Central America and now was champion in the South American event and they earned the right to go to Croatia next year for the Intercontinental Championship." .

"We already have comfort, thanks to God and our President, with the floor, the balls, it makes it easier for us to train, having these comforts is very good for the sport and that's how we are moving forward," said one of the players.
