Local Community Response Brigades receive equipment

As part of the strengthening of disaster response capacities, the Good Government, through the National System for Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Response (SINAPRED), delivered equipment to 15 Local Response Brigades in the Department of Managua.

The delivery was presided over by Xóchitl Cortes, Co-Director of Sinapred, the Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda Alvardo, the councilors of Tipitapa, San Rafael del Sur, Ticuantepe, Villa El Carmen and Ciudad Sandino.

With this delivery of equipment, a cycle of training and preparation for the 15 brigades is completed, it is a permanent process that will continue to update emergency plans in the event of disasters, the Sinapred authorities announced.

"Giving continuity to a process that we have been developing, this year with the preparation, training, organization of local, community, and neighborhood response brigades, which come to strengthen this entire system in situations that may arise in the territory, with a multi-threat approach”, added Cortes.

For her part, Mayor Rueda expressed that, with these tools, the brigade members will be able to carry out their work and actions more easily, "here we are practically the department of Managua, in this effort carried out by Sinapred, we feel strengthened, we have learned very much, grateful to the comrades who have had that willingness, that willingness and love for their neighbor to be organized in these brigades, to give a quick response in any eventuality”.

Of these 15 equipped brigades, 5 belong to the municipality of Managua, 5 to Ticuantepe, 2 to Tipitapa, 1 to Villa El Carmen, 1 to San Rafael del Sur and 1 to Ciudad Sandino.
