Call for the XIV Altar Contest in honor of the Immaculate Conception of Mary

From the Rotonda La Virgen, on the afternoon of this Thursday, November 24, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua held the XIV edition of the Altar Contest in honor of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, as part of the promotion and strengthening of traditions and cultural identity.

The members of the qualifying jury of each district were sworn in, who on December 7 will visit each of the participating altars in the different neighborhoods and regions of Managua.

The launch of the contest was attended by Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado, who thanked the people for their trust and faith in Marian activities, "it is a blessing that one more year we celebrate our Blessed Mother in this contest, right now they have registered in the different delegations from our Mayor's Office and from the Historical Heritage Department more than 120 families, what we would be if we were not a people with Faith, we are a Christian people, believers”.

Likewise, the mayor of the capital called on families to participate, they still have until November 30 to register.

This contest will be held in the 7 districts of the municipality of Managua and in each of them the 3 best altars will be awarded, with 10,000 córdobas for first place, 9,000 córdobas for second and 8,000 córdobas for third place.

The winners of this contest will be selected by a qualifying jury of 2 people in each district, who will evaluate the altars according to the creativity and originality of the altar, the incorporation of biblical messages, the use of traditional elements, such as sweets, crafts, flowers of the time and allude to the context of the reality of Nicaragua, highlighted the Director of Historical Heritage, Compañero Clemente Guido.
