The Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, builds 3 retaining walls with gabions in the Carlos Núñez neighborhood, to reduce the risks and vulnerability of 6 houses, which were in danger of landslides, due to the rains that caused erosion and undermining in the slopes.
The supervision visit was attended by Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales, who announced that these works have a scope of 106 cubic meters of walls with gabions, which help to stabilize the eroded soils and slopes, guaranteeing safety and protection for these families.
In the same way, he explained that in this community the Good Government has developed other mitigation works, which contribute to reducing the critical points and improving the living conditions of the families that live in these vulnerable areas.
He also highlighted that these actions have significantly reduced the critical points in Managua, from 133 in 2009, to 55 critical points last year; In addition, the exposed population has been reduced, from approximately 20,000 families in 2009, to less than 2,000 families this year.
The families were satisfied with the work carried out by the Sandinista Government, because now they will be safer and calmer, expressed the beneficiaries Adelayda Castillo and Ramona Guadalupe Eschke.
