





In the Santa Catalina neighborhood, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua is executing a mitigation work to reduce the vulnerability of the families of this community of District III, through the stabilization of the slopes of the channel, with gabion walls and the reinstallation of a Pedestrian bridge.
The work was supervised by Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado, who announced that the work being carried out will significantly improve the living conditions of 1,314 inhabitants of this community, with an investment amount of 675,222 córdobas.
“We have made a lot of progress in the mitigation works, after Storm Julia we had some damage, but here in Santa Catalina in the last assembly, less than two months ago, the families expressed the vulnerability they had, such as the need to change the bases of the bridge that connected two communities, we have prioritized that need,” said Rueda.
Also, he explained that 100 linear meters of gabions are being made to stabilize the channel and it is expected to be completed in a month. This project is part of the emergency works that are carried out through the Winter 2022 Plan, which for this year includes the execution of 122 works with an investment of more than 188 million córdobas.
Likewise, in this community, the Municipality, in coordination with the population, as part of the shared responsibility, set out to reinstall the drinking water pipes.
