Managua joins the National Network of Creative Cities of Nicaragua

Moving forward with the expansion and strengthening of the National Network of Creative Cities of Nicaragua, the Good Government, through the Secretariat of Creative Economy and Orange declared Managua, Capital, part of the network, for its Design, Heritage and Popular Art , the night of this Thursday, November 3.

Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado, Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales, the Secretary of the Council of Managua, Jennifer Porras López, Compañera Camila Ortega, National Coordinator of Creative Economy and special guests were present at the recognition ceremony.

“We feel motivated and strengthened, it is a celebration that Managua is qualified as a creative city, for all that historical heritage that we have, field work was carried out that was fundamental to provide a diagnosis of the strengths, opportunities that we have as Managua. Creative,” said Rueda.

The National Network of Creative Cities is an initiative promoted by the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity with the aim of deepening the territorialization of the creative economy model.

”We are happy, because our Capital is already part of the National Network of Creative Cities, where there is a lot of culture, historical spaces, creativity and outstanding designers, we are enriching that network, we have already been launching it in Matagalpa and other cities that are applying and soon they will be joining”, said Compañera Camila Ortega.

The families of the capital celebrated this new award that adds to the different distinctions that Managua has had for its faithful commitment to design, innovation, historical heritage, popular art and love for the environment.

Also, on this night an Expo Fair was held to show the circuit of the 9 creative areas of Managua and a colorful festival dedicated to Culture and Creativity.
