Municipality pays tribute to the National Hero, General Benjamín Zeledón

In commemoration of the 143rd anniversary of the birth and the 110th anniversary of the passage to immortality of General Benjamín Zeledón Rodríguez, authorities and workers of the Mayor's Office of Citizen Power of Managua, placed floral offerings at the foot of his monument in the municipality of Catarina, Masaya, the morning of this Tuesday, October 4.

General Zeledón, an example of patriotism, was born on October 4, 1879 and gave his life in the 1912 war precisely on the same date of his birth, saving the national dignity of the people by rejecting the invading enemy's surrender proposals.

Thanks to this historic deed of General Zeledón, today we have a free and sovereign country, the commitment remains the same, the fight for prosperity, said Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado, who at the same time thanked the residents of this municipality for their welcome .

“That historical and patriotic legacy of General Benjamín Zeledón is really present, his fight is still valid, for our sovereignty, for the restitution of rights, for the profound social changes that are taking place, thanks to that fight that our national heroes had. , today our people live free and transforming the lives of Nicaraguan families, through the strategies and policies of our national government,” added Rueda.
