Youth Games holds second athletics competition of the year

More than 300 runners from districts 4 and 5 participated in the second athletics competition, organized by the Managua 2022 Youth Games on the IND track. The finalists of this round will face the winners of the first and third round which will be in October.

The participants of this second competition competed in the categories U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18 and U20, in 100,200 and 400 meter dash.

Noel González, director of Sports of the Municipality, explained that once all the competitions are carried out, the grand final will be held next November.

“Those who win will compete with the winners of the other districts in November, the Youth Games in all its disciplines have been a success, because it allows us to massify and promote sports in all neighborhoods, with the games we achieve that all young people have access to sports, that is one of the objectives of our Good Government and we are complying with it”, declared González.

These competitions allow us to discover new promises of sport, capture them and train them in an integral way from a young age.

José Valerio, coach of the Athletics Academy reported that registration for this sport is permanently open for free on the IND track and the kids, in addition to participating in this second round of the Youth Games, have participated in other events at the national level. .

"The academy has had good results in different national events, the kids have participated in different tests carried out by the federation, recently in the U20 category we won the sub championship, we also won the championship in high jump and in triple jump we are among the best at the national level”, affirmed Valerio.
