























The Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua paid tribute to Nicaraguan art on September 10, admitting 26 artists to the Paseo de las Estrellas, located on Paseo Xolotlán.
This recognition was organized in coordination with the National Institute of Culture, the Leonel Rugama Cultural Movement and the Association of Nicaraguan Artists, to pay tribute to these honorable artists who, with their careers and their work, have extolled culture and national identity, through Of art.
26 stars were unveiled to immortalize the name of these men and women "Pride of the Homeland", in a night full of art, culture, dance and music.
Reyna Rueda Alvarado, Mayor of Managua, expressed that this activity, which pays tribute to outstanding national artists, is the best greeting and celebration of the National Holidays.
"What better way to start the National Holidays with the recognition of great musicians and teachers, the Good Government of Commander Daniel Ortega and our Comrade Rosario Murillo has made a series of awards to plastic artists, singer-songwriters of music, dance, painting and theater and today we make that recognition to 26 brothers and sisters who have brought great glory to our country, outstanding nationally and internationally, bringing great pride to Nicaragua through the dance and culture that they have come to demonstrate in each of international activities”, said Rueda.
Brenda Flores of the Leonel Rugama Cultural Movement, explained that this tribute is made for the years of dedication they made without expecting anything in return, "art, culture and popular traditions dress up as a party with the recognition of our artists, through of their great effort and the work they have been doing, since their youth, the work they show on stage, showing their great talent”.
The prominent playwright, Julio Cesar Cruz, Director and founder of the theater company Cara o Sol, originally from Estelí, was proud to be one of the artists recognized for his dedication and career.
